I would say that your best bet is going to be Audacity. It's FREE, it's powerful, and there are a bunch of people that use it and create great music.

Another option is that, if and when you decide to upgrade from a USB microphone, almost all digital audio interfaces come with lite versions of major recording software. There are all fully capable of recording rap tracks.

There are a few answers up here on the exact same subject:

Allan

Fl Studio is great for doing beats. The Producer Edition and XXL versions also have audio recording but to get the best result you will also need a good soundcard (ASIO support, or least use ASIO4ALL).

I don't find it complicated but you should try the demo to see how you like it of course:

Also, get some good samples for your beats:

In case you end up getting FL Studio, here's my promo link for 10% discount on the entire first order at the image-line online shop:

Good luck!

Download and run this free program to see if your

computer is experiencing registry or optimization

problems. If it corrects your problem then run it

daily or whenever your system appears to run slow.

Advanced WindowsCare Personal 2.7.1
Select the "Download now" button ..Not the "Download Here" on the banner.

Cheers

Danny

All you need to do that is a computer. With a program like FL Studio, you don't even need a MIDI keyboard (piano). You can use the keyboard on your computer to tigger the instruments in FL Studio. Of course, if you can get a MIDI keyboard it would be best though.

All you need is a USB to MIDI cable, about 30-40 bucks and start up FL Studio and you are good to go.

Check out the demo of FL Studio here:

Make sure you read the F1 help manual to get started. You can import any VSTi (virtual instrument) into FL Studio. Image-Line makes several, the flagship being "Sytrus" which comes with the XXL version of FL Studio at a major discounted price.

If you end up liking FL Studio, here is a link I used to buy my FL Studio with a 10% discount on the ENTIRE first purchase, anybody can use it:

Once you buy FL Studio from image-line's online shop, you get FREE LIFETIME updates..meaning you don't pay a cent each year they release a new version (9,10,11, ect.. for free).

Good luck and have fun

Sam

Hai....

A famous term of your question is looping, looping means you have a standard basic music loop for drums, bass or other instrument, and modified the beat, tempo, sound or style, mixing it together to create an electronic song.

Nowdays there are many software for loop, like Fruity Loop, Nuendo, Sonar, Protools, Magix, etc.

All you need is a PC, a sound card with midi controller, and a midi instument. But you can also create your music with out midi instrument by editing existing loop, transpose it, change the tempo, modify the drum style, etc. But if you use a midi instrument (Creative Labs produce a cheap mini midi keyboard like common PC's keyboard) you can create your own style easily.

You can learn it yourself, by downloading the relevant books of the software on internet.

It's easy, only took 1 week to learn and become electronic musician, but you also must have musical skill.

Good luck for trying

Suzanne

I'm not sure where they come up with /low/ stress? Most of the successful software developers [engineers] I know would not call their job low stress- but as far as eduacation?

``The usual college major for applications software engineers is computer science or software engineering. Systems software engineers often study computer science or computer information systems. Graduate degrees are preferred for some of the more complex jobs.'' --bls.gov

My advice- try to find something you enjoy that pays reasonably well because once hard schedules are put into the mix- even the most enjoyable tasks can lose their appeal. They call it /work/ for a reason.
